But the day Farmer set up the tent in the backyard, her emotions relating to the event (which she could witness from our living room window) were varied. She was excited, then she decided she didn't want to do it and at one point, she actually had a meltdown about going outside to see the tent she'd been watching Farmer assemble all morning.
She finally acquiesced as long as I went with her. Farmer and I looked at each other: this was probably not going to happen...and that was okay.
That evening, with Little Leaf in bed, the three of us sat outside by the fire (don't worry, I had the baby monitor on) and had s'mores. Dandelion was delighted and delightful as we all stared at the flames and talked about what colors we saw before us. We sang songs and said silly things.
Then, it was time for bed.
To my surprise, I took her to the tent and she made it very clear that she was ready for me to leave. Her bed was cozy and exciting and she got to be with Daddy.
I left her for my own bed and didn't hear a peep from them until they came in for breakfast.
What a trooper!
And here's my other trooper taking some steps!

Wow! Such grown up kids, both of them. I can't imagine Callum walking any time soon. He's only just starting to be interested in standing.
For a 10 month old, he's doing very well!! SO sweet to see both of them last night on the iChat--seeing him take a few steps and her telling us about the campout! She really loved the marshmallows. :)
Way to go, Jude!! Give him a few more days and he'll be running :)
